Once the Asssistant Instructor & Instructor Training Course have been taken and necessary requirements fulfilled, the next step is to advance to the professional career path. Instructor categories :
SSI AOWI – Advanced Open Water Instructor – Be qualifed to conduct at least four (4) Specialty programs, including Diver Stress and Rescue. Have issued at least 15 Specialty or Advanced Adventurer certifcations.
SSI DMI – Divemaster Instructor – Be an Advanced Open Water Instructor or equivalent from a recognized training agency. Be a Science of Diving Instructor or equivalent from a recognized training agency. Have issued at least 30 certifcations, including 15 Scuba Diver/Open Water Diver certifcations.
SSI AIT – Assistant Instructor Trainer – Have a Divemaster Instructor certification. This program provides the skills, concepts, and teaching experience required to become a successful SSI Instructor. You will learn the SSI Teaching System and philosophy, how to assist Instructors in training and how to independently teach a variety of SSI training programs. Candidates who complete this program can earn the SSI Assistant Instructor rating or work all the way through to the SSI Open Water Instructor after having successfully passed the Instructor Evaluation in addition.
